[Bali] Revolver Espresso was one of the early movers in Bali’s specialty coffee scene, paving the way for others that followed.
Over the years, it’s become the go-to spot in Seminyak for baristas, caffeine addicts, and digital nomads who need both strong Wi-Fi and stronger espresso.
The brand now roasts its own beans locally and even operates a roastery and smaller offshoot, Baby Revolver, down the road.
Hidden in a little lane off Jalan Kayu Aya in Seminyak, the place feels more like a secret bar than a coffee shop.
Step through the dark entrance, and you’ll find yourself in one of the most talked-about cafés on the island.
The vibe was dark, almost cinematic-moody (maybe because I visited during a rainy morning).
Think dark timber, exposed brick, leather seats, and vintage portraits of cowboys and pistols on the wall. Well keeping in theme.
Morning plates include Smashed Avo (IDR 95K), Truffle Mushroom Hash (IDR 100K), Breakfast Burger (IDR 95K), Croissant Eggs Benny (IDR 120K), and Revolver Big Brekkie (IDR 130K).
Heavier meals include Chicken Parmy (IDR 140K), Steak Frites (IDR 250K), Mac & Cheese (IDR 120K), and Beef Baguette with braised cheek ragu (IDR 130K).
Burgers and sandwiches are also crowd-pleasers, like Rev’s Smash Burger (IDR 140K), Chicken Katsu Sandwich (IDR 135K), and Italian Deli Sandwich (IDR 150K).
I went with the Breakfast Burrito (IDR 120K), which came tightly wrapped with scrambled egg, bacon and a punchy jalapeño mayo that gave just enough kick.
The eggs were creamy-soft, the tortilla crisp on the edges, and certainly very filling and satisfying. One of the best cafe breakfasts I had this Bali trip.
Then, of course, the coffee. Revolver’s beans are roasted locally using Arabica sourced from Bali and across the region.
The tasting notes leaned bold and chocolatey, with a hint of citrus on the finish. My flat white arrived in a black cup, medium-bodied, smooth and balanced, with none of that sour sharpness.
Prices are slightly above average for Bali, but for the quality of the coffee, it feels justified.
After more than a decade, Revolver Espresso has proven it’s not just another café chasing trends. It’s become part of the fabric of Bali’s café culture.
It’s worth finding your way through that tiny alley.
