MONDO Espresso & Tea Bar in Phuket already looks photo ready from the outside, even before you step in for coffee.
Sitting at a busy corner along Yaowarat Road, the café occupies a striking cream-coloured building with arched columns, curved balconies and plenty of open angles for photos.
During golden hour, the façade catches the light beautifully, so you can see why people stop here for photos before even looking at the menu (or even drinking a single cup of coffee).
MONDO first opened in Phuket in 2023, and positions itself as an espresso and tea bar rather than just another pretty café.
Inside, the space is bright and polished, with a modern white and brown palette, curved design details and a pastry display near the counter.
The upper floors and balcony seats are the more popular spots, especially if you want a view of the Old Town streets below.
While many visitors seem to come mainly for the Instagram and Xiaohongshu shots upstairs, the drinks are decent enough for the café not to rely only on its looks.
The drinks menu covers the usual coffee staples such as Espresso (THB 90), Ristretto (THB 90), Piccolo (THB 95), Flat White (THB 95), Americano (THB 90), Cappuccino (THB 95), Latte (THB 95), Mocha (THB 100) and Caramel Macchiato (THB 110).
There are also more playful iced options including Black Sesame Latte (THB 150), Orange Americano (THB 140), Coconut Flower Americano (THB 140), Coldbrew (THB 90), Dirty (THB 120) and Es-Yen (THB 95).
The coffee I had was pleasant and easy to drink, though I would place the overall experience more in the “good café stop while exploring Old Town” category than somewhere to cross Phuket for coffee alone.
If you need something to eat, there are sweet treats like Caramel Custard Pudding (THB 120), Lemon Pie (THB 180), Coffee Caramel Cake (THB 160), Flourless Chocolate Cake (THB 160), Apple Tart (THB 160), and Basque Burnt Cheesecake (THB 160).
Still, the setting does most of the pulling power here.
The corner building, balcony views and photogenic interiors make MONDO one of the more eye-catching cafés in Phuket Old Town.
