Takashimaya Department Store has undergone a revamp for their Level 3 Ladies’ Fashion Contemporary Zone.

Head up the escalator and the first thing you will see is this Wanderlust Cafe, a pastel pink space right within the departmental store.

Other than the calming pink colour, the cafe furnished with wooden furniture pieces and decked with a wooden ceiling that is aesthetically pleasing.

Good to know that Takashimaya Shopping Centre and Ngee Ann City which once didn’t have that many coffee shops, has quite a number of new cafes.

These include Hvala, Pazzion Café, Found Café, café Q Classified, You Are My Sunshine, Matchaya, Drips Bakery Cafe, Cupping Room Coffee Roasters and FLIPPER’S.

Wanderlust is a multi-label café with a number of F&B concepts under the same roof (which also reminds me of 51 Tras at Tanjong Pagar).

Some shoppers may think that it is a perfect #OOTD spot, with green plants and a huge mirror that for taking photos.

A small selection of Tartines ($9.90) are displayed on the counter, with flavours such as Mixed Berries, Guac & Salsa, Truffle Egg Mayo, Salami & Cheese, Smoked Salmon and Caprese (Italian salad).

Pastries are provided by Cream & Custard, known for their Watermelon Strawberry Cake – which was a viral dessert when they first opened at Jalan Bukit Ho Swee in 2015

The brand has since closed down their brick-and-mortar store and shifted to supplying cakes from their factory.

Check out all the Cakes ($9.90) on display, including their signature Watermelon Strawberry Cake, Passionfruit Meringue Tart, Raspberry Lychee Cake, Galaxy Cake and Lychee Rose Cake.

I enjoyed the Passionfruit Meringue Tart ($9.90), a good balance of citrus punch from the passionfruit and buttery sweetness from the crumbly tart crust.

The Raspberry Lychee Cake ($9.90) was also light and refreshing, encased by a lychee mousse layer on the outside, and a mildly-tangy raspberry compote layer on the inside.

Coffee is supplied by The Affogato Bar at Cluny Court.

For non-espresso options, teas (Hot $7, Iced $8) are from homegrown brand Gifel and Bottled Juices ($7) from Gorilla Press.

The Raspberry Lychee Soda ($8), was decent, sparkling and bubbling from the soda water added, and ideal for Singapore’s hot climate.

Shoppers will be thrilled to know that the same storey also houses artisanal handicrafts, lifestyle accessories, fashion apparel and jewelry, perfect for shopping after a meal.
