Big news for anyone in Singapore who’s been curious about the Messina hype: Gelato Messina is finally opening here.
Yep, it’s coming to Club Street, right where Tre Café used to be, near Merci Marcel.
Word is the launch is happening around the end of April.
Gelato Messina has been on my radar for years. I first tried it in Sydney, then again in Melbourne, and even grabbed one of their tubs when I was back in Australia.
Gelato Messina is renowned for its extensive range of 40 flavours, including 35 classic options and five rotating weekly specials.
Their classic flavours include options like Pistachio, Salted Caramel, Blood Orange Sorbet, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Mint, White Chocolate, and Coconut & Lychee.
These specials are known for their creativity, featuring combinations like ‘Get Baked’ with baked caramel cheesecake gelato and dulce de leche.
Or ‘So Wrong It’s Right’ which includes cream cheese and caramel gelato with white chocolate potato chips.
Not just your basic chocolate and strawberry stuff. They go all in. Think apple pie with real chunks of pie in it, or peanut butter gelato with roasted coconut and nuts.
They make everything from scratch too, even their milk and hazelnuts come from their own farms. You taste that effort.
I’m guessing the Singapore outlet will bring the same energy. So there’s always something new to try, which I love.
But I’m not going to pretend they’re all perfect. Some flavours are a sugar bomb. The ones with fudge or too many mix-ins can be too much after a few bites.
No official word yet on what the menu or prices will be like here, but if it’s anything like the Aussie stores, it’s not going to be cheap.
