Breakfast Grill is known for its hearty, over-the-top sandwiches and a laid-back, no-frills café vibe.
Aside from East Coast, it has opened a new spot at Lorong Kilat near Beauty World.
It opens daily from 8am and focuses on breakfast and brunch, though many of the items would sit comfortably in any part of the day.
The Lorong Kilat outlet follows the same style but with more polish.
The interior leans Japanese-minimalist, with soft globe lighting, muted colours, and a mix of leather booth seating and dark-toned chairs.
You could come here with friends (will probably attract a lot of boutique gym goers nearby) or just settle in alone.
There’s also a pet-friendly outdoor area, which is a nice touch if you’re walking your dog on the weekend.
Now onto the food, which is the real reason people come back.
Breakfast Grill’s thing is “sammies”—massive, toast-pressed sandwiches packed with bold fillings.
Each one is layered with a mix of savoury fillings like fried chicken, eggs, smoked bacon, pickles, creamy sauces, and even beer battered halibut. Basically, not your average breakfast sandwich.
Sammies options include Cheeses ($11), Croque Monsieur ($13.50), Counter Brekkie ($15), Cali ($15), Classic Brekkie ($16), Sunday Cals ($16), Magic Mushroom ($14.50), Cheeky Fella ($16), BFF ($18), 1-800-Surf-N-Turf ($19), and Pull Me Closer ($19).
The Classic Brekkie ($16) packs a familiar flavour that hits all the usual breakfast cravings.
The spiced sausage (quite a surprise) brings a gentle heat, while the bacon onion marmalade adds a sweet-savoury layer that cuts through the richness.
The scrambled eggs are soft, not overdone.
Every bite has a bit of everything: meaty, cheesy, slightly spicy, slightly sweet, and just enough bite to keep it interesting.
The Cheeky Fella ($16) is another crowd favourite.
It’s built around a deep-fried chicken thigh with scrambled eggs, American cheddar, garlic aioli, and house-made ranch.
If you’re hungry, it satisfies without question.
Brunch is served daily till 4:30pm, with dishes like Shakshouka ($17), Smashed Prawn Toast ($16), Maple Toast ($17), Kimchi Duck Tamago ($24), Chorizo Pasta ($17), Grilled Chick Salad ($19), and All Filled Up ($25).
Staff are friendly, and they don’t hover. The place fills up fast, especially on weekends. Come early if you want to avoid the rush.
Price-wise, it’s not cheap. Once you add a drink and maybe a side, it edges into the $20+ range.
But the portions are generous, and the space is comfortable without trying too hard. Bring your appetite. If you’ve got a dog, bring them too.
