Why is this ice cream cafe called Overscoop?
That is because with every order, you get a cute mini ‘overscoop’ of gelato atop your gelato, inviting you to try another flavour.
The ice cream cafe has quickly expanded from its original location to outlets in Orchard Central, Hougang Rivercourt, West Coast Plaza, CQ @ Clarke Quay, and a new outlet at 55 Tanjong Pagar.
The menu features a diverse range of gelato flavours, including classics like Acai Berry, Belgium Chocolate, Bubblegum, Cookies & Cream, French Vanilla, and Salted Caramel.
Premium options such as After Eight Mint, Blueberry Yoghurt, Butterfly Pea Milk, Chocolate Rocky Road, Milo Dinosaur, Mocha Biscott, Strawberry Cheesecake, to Speculoos Biscoff.
I did find prices on the slightly higher side, with a single scoop at $5.50, with premium and signature flavours costing $1 and $2 extra respectively.
However, there are some promotions, such as 1-for-1 deals on waffles and croffles (depending on the card or app you have). However, without promotions, the prices can quickly add up.
A recommended item is their Croffle ($7) or Mochi Waffle ($8) – with a crisp exterior and a chewy mochi interior, providing a pleasant contrast between light crisp and soft chewiness.
Decor wise, the space is accented by a cherry blossom tree installation.
Wooden tables and chairs provide a rustic yet comfortable seating arrangement, blending well with the earthy tones of the décor.
The good news for supper and late-night K-BBQ goers is that this branch opens until 12:15am every night.
