I have seen this viral “Korean 10 Won Coin Pancake” frequently in Myeongdong Seoul and wondered when it would arrive in Singapore officially.

There you have it.

A new spot called 10 Cent Pancake has popped up at Tanjong Pagar Plaza, bringing a little slice of Korea to our shores with a quirky Singaporean twist.

They have reimagined the Korean Coin Cake, into something you can snag any day of the week, shaped like our own 10 cent coin.

While there were previously some pop-ups in Singapore selling this viral Korean Coin Pancake, this Tanjong Pagar café is dedicated to selling it.

The café has a minimalistic setup that lets the food do all the talking.

At the heart of their menu are the Korean Coin Cakes ($5), which come with a cheesy mozzarella filling.

The owners actually learnt how to make them from Japan itself, not Korea.

Now, let’s talk taste. The Coin Cake hits the spot with its crispy exterior that cracked beautifully to reveal a warm, stretchy cheese center.

The slab of cheese filling was comfortingly gooey, melding well with the sweet batter.

If you need some drinks, they offer Black Coffee ($5), White Coffee ($5), and Oat White Coffee ($6).

And the Iced House Tea? It is a refreshing mix of tea, honey, and yuzu, for washing down the rich flavours of the pancakes.

However, I do feel this could be a short-lived trend, and I think the café has probably got to explore selling other types of fillings other than just cheese.

10 Cent Pancake is a fun, tasty find in Tanjong Pagar and well worth dropping by.
