Fans of popular Hong Kong’s The Cupping Room will be thrilled to know that the second Cupping Room Singapore outlet is now opened at Robinson Centre (near Shenton Way MRT station).

Known for its good coffee and Australian-inspired café brunch fare, its first outlet in Singapore is opened at Takashimaya in 2020.

The Cupping Room was founded in 2011 with its first outlet at Stanley Plaza on Hong Kong Island.

It further expanded to coffee shops at Sheung Wan (Queen’s Road Central), Wan Chai (Swatow Street), within shopping malls at Lee Garden One, Causeway Bay and Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, and a roastery at Po Hing Fong.

Over at the Robinson Road brand, there is a certain fluidity in their interior, from round-edged tables and chairs to curved-edged coffee counter, and straight parallel lines leading inwards.

Cupping Room Coffee Roasters at Robinson Centre is more like a fuss-free coffee place for the CBD workers.

That being said, all their drinks are served in takeaway cups even for dine-in customers (hope is just a soft launch situation).

A bigger selection of pastries is available at their Takashimaya outlet, whereas only Chocolate Chip Cookie ($4.50) is served here.

Focusing more on their beverages, think Espresso ($4.80), Long Black ($5), Macchiato ($5), White ($5.50 for 4oz, $6 for 7oz), Mocha ($7) and Single Origin Filter Coffee ($5.80 – $14).

Using their Attaboy house blend consisting of Ethiopia and Colombia harvested in 2021, their 7oz White ($6) is medium bodied and robust with notes of chocolate, blackberries with a citrus finish.

Non-espresso drinks include Chocolate ($6) and Matcha Latte ($6.50), the latter uses oat milk from Oatly! by default.

Sprinkled with matcha powder on top, the Matcha Latte ($6.50) was sweetened, with a full body and pretty distinct in matcha taste.

The beverage was pretty well balanced with a hint of bitterness from the matcha powder.

Diners can also get their coffee beans and Nespresso-compatible capsules from their retail section there.
