So I travelled all the way to Gambas Crescent at Sembawang just to check out this insta-worthy café (Don’t even ask me how much the Grab fare is).

Hidden within a leasehold commercial property of Ark @ Gambas, The Nursery Café & Bar is one of the prettiest new garden-themed cafes out there.

I shall leave it to you to decide if you want to make the trip here.

The cafe is opened by The Nursery Singapore team at King George’s Building (Jalan Besar); and this two-in-one space houses a nursery retail section next door.

With rattan seats, faux marble tables and wood-panelled counters, the vibe at The Nursery is immaculate. Perhaps somewhere to drink wine to ease the night away.

Café by day and bar by night, the transformation is as if two outfits are occupying the space of one.

They are still in their soft launch phase at the moment (so I will be honest to say the menu is not very exciting at this moment).

Expect more in the future, but you can already start to enjoy the basic selections of waffles, pizzas, bar bites, pastries, and drinks.

Included are items such as Classic Bacon & Egg Waffles ($12.90), Very Berry Waffles with Gelato ($13.90), Four Cheese Pizza ($12.90), Truffle Mozzarella Pizza ($12.90), Margarita with Rocket Pizza ($12.90) and selection of bar bites.

The freshly prepared waffles are thick rectangular pieces, slightly crisp as you cut into it.

The classic Fried Chicken Waffle ($15.90) comes with one such waffle, with fried chicken to finish it off.

The syrup is served on the side for you to adjust the taste according to your liking.

It was a decent savoury waffles. It is just that many of the new cafes in Singapore have upped their game in terms of offerings, and customers may just expect more.

If this is too unhealthy for you, the organic Granola Bowl ($9.90) is a more wholesome breakfast or brunch item.

Some bar bites are in order, with some recommended being the Truffle Fries ($12.90), Crispy Prawn Rolls ($8.90), Crispy Mid-Wings ($9.90), Chicken Nuggets ($8.90) and Chicken Karaage ($9.90).

Whether it is day or night, you can get a dessert for a treat such as the Dark Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Gelato ($12), which is a classic combination.

There is of course a dessert waffle. The Very Berry Waffle with Gelato ($13.90) comes with the flavour of your choice, from Vanilla, Speculoos and Earl Grey.

If you like what they have, perhaps you can start counting down the days left before their full launch.
