Lek Kee Authentic Teochew Braised Duck 陆记正宗潮州卤鸭 is one of those stalls at People’s Park Food Centre where you will notice a queue forming in front.

And the food sometimes gets sold out by the middle of lunch.

Singapore has no shortage of braised duck stalls, and Lek Kee was also newly included in the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2026 selection.

Actually, quite a number of duck stalls have found their way into the MICHELIN Guide over the years, including Kwee Heng, Cheok Kee, Heng Gi, Chuan Kee, Boon Tong Kee (Zion Road) and Yi Pin Wei.

Lek Kee keeps its menu fairly simple with Duck Rice ($4, $6, $7.50). You can also add parts such as wings, feet and neck, depending on what is available.

For sharing, there are larger portions such as Whole Duck ($50), Half Duck ($26), 1/4 Lower Part of The Duck ($14), and 1/4 Upper Part ($12).

I ordered a mixed plate with braised duck, tofu, and braised egg over white rice.

The duck here came in fairly thick pieces, which I liked. It was not chopped too thin, so each piece had some bite and a stronger duck flavour.

Some parts were tender, while others needed a little more chewing, but the meat did not taste too dry or gamey.

As this is more Teochew in style, the braising sauce was lighter than the darker, sweeter versions some stalls serve.

It had a soy-based savouriness, a mild herbal fragrance, and enough flavour to coat the duck.

That said, if you prefer your braised duck rice with thick, rich, almost sticky sauce, this may feel a little ‘bland’.

I did wish there was slightly more sauce over the rice, because plain white rice can feel a bit dry.

That said, do come with some patience or avoid peak lunch hours. The queue can be quite long during lunch, and with some items selling out by the middle of the meal period.
