Bukit Merah Central isn’t exactly where you’d expect to find a micro-roastery and artisanal coffee shop like this.
Surrounded by old-school jewellery shops and TCM halls, 3Brew Coffee looks like a standard HDB kiosk until you see the gear behind the counter.
The space is simple with minimal seating, making it better suited for a quick takeaway.
However, there are some camping chairs outside if you need to take a breather.
The menu is a hybrid of “Specialty” and “Nanyang” coffee.
You can grab a Kopi O or Teh O for a modest $1.90, or get a precision-pulled Spanish Latte ($6.00) if you’re feeling fancy.
They also serve local curiosities like Hor Ka Sai ($3.30) which is a coffee and Milo mix, alongside a “Special” board featuring a Strawberry Matcha ($8.50) and a cold-only Dirty Latte ($6.50).
They source their beans from the reliable Pacto by Parchmen. The Latte ($5.50) was nutty, smooth, and avoided that scorched bitterness.
I also had the Iced Black ($4.50) and found it to lean towards a darker roast, yet still clean and bright with subtle acidity that did not veer into sourness.
If you are feeling indulgent, they also have a display case of brownies, featuring Sea Salt Brownies ($6.00) and Biscoff Brownies ($6.50).
These provide a rich, fudgy accompaniment to the stronger coffee notes.
If you find yourself in this part of Bukit Merah Central (next to the food centre) before the 3pm cut-off, it can be a coffee stop for a serious fix.
