I stumbled upon The Neighbourhood Cafe at North Bridge Road during an afternoon walk in the Lavender area.

You can find it just a short distance from the busy North Bridge Road Food Centre and the famous Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle at Crawford Lane. (The owner thought I came after work from ICA. LOL).

This cafe feels like a hidden gem, although perhaps too hidden.

The space has a quiet charm, with clean wooden tables, white chairs, and muted, pastel walls that give off a serene vibe.

Exploring The Neighbourhood Cafe’s Comforting Desserts and Unique Ice Cream

There’s something nice about the calm, but it left me wondering if the spot could do more to stand out in such a competitive cafe landscape.

The menu features a straightforward selection of comforting treats.

For chocolate lovers, there are warm chocolate bakes like the Fudgy Brownie ($7) and Molten Lava Cake ($8), both served with a premium scoop of ice cream on top.

The ice cream options are fairly broad, with flavours like Oolong Osmanthus, Melon Milk, Snickers, Piedmont Hazelnut, Chocolate Mint, NSA Chocolate, and Sea Salt Gula Melaka.

Prices vary depending on the flavour, with classic scoops at $4.30 (single) and going up to $11.50 for three scoops of royal selections.

I ordered a serving of Chocolate Mint and NSA (No Sugar Added) Chocolate ice cream, mainly out of curiosity to see how a sugar-free scoop might fare.

The Chocolate Mint was refreshing, with a soft mint flavour that complemented the chocolate without being too overpowering.

The NSA Chocolate, on the other hand, was a little more intense, with a deep, rich cocoa flavour that tasted slightly bitter.

A Peaceful Spot in Lavender: The Neighbourhood Cafe’s Dessert Delights Uncovered

Both scoops were served on a thin, crispy waffle, which was lightly dusted with cinnamon powder.

I found myself craving a bit more fluffiness or chew in the waffle to add contrast to the smoothness of the ice cream.

Beverage-wise, they offer coffee classics like Long Black ($5), Cappuccino ($5.50), and Flat White ($5.50), alongside a few trendy items like Iced Dalgona Latte ($7) and Iced Matcha Latte ($6.50).

Quiet Ambience, Rich Flavours: A Visit to The Neighbourhood Cafe on North Bridge Road

The quiet, almost secluded location gives it a peaceful atmosphere, but also makes it feel a bit off-the-radar.

With so many trendy cafes around, a distinctive feature – whether it’s a signature flavour or a special item, could really help attract more people.
