Oh, Little Rogue Coffee has recently relocated to Tiong Bahru at Yong Siak Street.
I have a little special memory of its old location at Tanjong Katong, as that was the first café I headed to when COVID restrictions were initially lifted. Anyway…
The café took over the spot previously occupied by Soi 47 Thai Food.
With relaxed vibes, the new occupant presents a comfortable setting that combines Balinese-inspired décor with terrazzo-like tables and wooden accents.
There is both an indoor and a small outdoor seating area, and it retains the inviting, family-friendly atmosphere that regulars should appreciate.
The menu offers an array of brunch favourites, lunch mains, and healthy bowls, with a dedicated section for children.
Don’t worry if you miss your favourites.
The Soft Scrambled Eggs with Ikura ($19) still remains, combining creamy eggs with roe and sourdough.
You can still find the hearty Patatas Bravas ($17), featuring a deep-fried soft egg, potato foam, and chorizo salsa. Yes, it is a refreshing take on the Spanish classic.
For sandwich lovers, the Double Beef Paradise Sandwich ($29) with smoked brisket and cheddar cheese, or the Sourdough Cheese Toastie ($22) with brie, mozzarella, and a side of clam chowder, make substantial and satisfying options.
I decided to go for the comforting choice of Breakfast Spamwich ($18).
The combination of spam, a sunny-side-up egg, cheddar cheese, and avocado served in a sourdough bun, brings both savoury richness and creamy textures.
Hearty yet simple, though I feel they could reduce the mustard a tad, as it can overwhelm the rest of the ingredients.
I was also recommended the Super Fried Chicken ($18).
While I initially expected a karaage-style presentation or similar, this came in a sizable portion, served with Sriracha butter sauce and Szechuan honey, a combination that balances crispy, juicy chicken with bold flavours.
Worth an order.
Drinks are just as varied, with espresso options starting at $4.50, and non-coffee alternatives like the Pure Matcha Latte ($7) or House 7-Chai Latte ($6.50) available throughout the day.
While the indoor space seems more compact than the previous, Little Rogue Coffee delivers a friendly café experience, whether you’re there for a quiet breakfast or a laid-back lunch.
By the way, they have expanded to include dinner service on many nights.
