[BANGKOK] Perhaps you may even ask, “What’s a cassette?
The all-pink The Cassette Coffee Bar has opened at Siam Square has a total retro vibes which may bring you to the times of The Great Gatsby.
No wonder the creativity and theme. It is from the team behind The Cassette Music Bar that owns 3 different concepts stores: The Cassette Sky Bar at SO/ Bangkok, The Cassette Music Bar and The Cassette at GROOVE Central World.
The Cassette Coffee Bar is their first step into the cafe scene, retaining their unique pink decor that is uniform in all bars.
Located few doors away from MIL Toast House at Siam Square, the entire entrance is decked in an eye-catching shade of pink, with a pink rotating door leading to the indoors area.
Inside, the entire space is once again pink in colour, with metallic pink ceilings and walls, baby pink tall stools, pink bar counter and a pink espresso machine.
I can imagine how popular this place is as every single corner within the cafe is perfect for an #OOTD shot.
There is so much attention to the details here, with plates, pink paper napkins and even pink beverages on the menu such as Strawberry Mocha (THB 140, SGD 5.60), and Fresh Pink Lemonade (THB 120, SGD 4.80).
2 different coffee beans are available for their espresso-based drinks: a 3-beans medium roasted Cassette Blend with Ethiopia, Brazil and Thai that gives a chocolatey and citrusy sweetness; and a single origin from Chiangmai that is medium-light roast with floral and brown sugar taste.
A cup of Espresso starts from THB 90 (SGD 3.60) with options such as White (THB 120, SGD 4.80), Mocha (THB 140, SGD 5.60) and Orange Latte (THB 140, SGD 5.60).
The Strawberry Mocha (THB 140, SGD 5.60) was pretty well balanced with sweetness from the strawberry and earthy chocolatey flavours of the mocha.
The Fresh Pink Lemonade (THB 120, SGD 4.80) wasn’t much of a surprise, but definitely welcoming in Bangkok’s hot climate.
A refreshing and citrus drink that is a perfect thirst quencher.
A small selection of bakes are displayed on the shelf, namely Croissant (THB 120, SGD 4.80), Pecan Pie (THB 135, SGD 5.40), Chocolate Pillow Cake (THB 135, SGD 5.40) and Button Cheese Tart (3 for THB 120, SGD 4.80).
The Button Cheese Tart (3 for THB 120, SGD 4.80) reminds me of the ones from BAKE Cheese Tart, smaller in size with a creamy cheesy core and crumbly buttery tart crust.
With such an eye-catching entrance where most people will stop for a second look, The Cassette Coffee Bar will be popular spot for tourists and cafe hoppers.
