Lucky Saigon Cafe – Tanglin
356 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247674
Opening Hours: 9am – 10pm (Mon – Sun)

Vietnamese Cafe With Outdoor Garden And Photo Spots At Tanglin
Located right next to Salvation Army Donation Booth at Tanglin, Lucky Saigon Cafe has opened their 2nd outlet there with an entire outdoor concept.

Its first is located at North Canal Road near Boat Quay.

Head up the short flight of stairs and you would be greeted by lots of greeneries, a cage full of birds and a spacious outdoor space on a grass lawn.

Almost like dining under the stars if you head at night (and the sun daytime).

The entire area is decorated like a beer garden, with hanging plants and light bulbs that would light up the space in the evening.

I felt that I was instantly transported to another country, away from the city life that we are familiar with, surrounded by livestocks, potted plants and occasional pets owned by the diners roaming the area.

Vietnamese cuisine which encompasses a wide variety offered here include the BBQ ($9 – $68), Starter ($7.50 – $12.50), Wrap And Roll ($12.50 – $15), Salad ($9 – $9.50), Baguette ($8.50 – $9.50), Pho ($8.50 – $13.80), Noodles ($9.50 – $12.50), Rice ($9.50 – $12) and Vegetables & Soup ($7.50 – $13.50). Botanical-Themed Two-Storey French Cafe Near Bugis
Not related to the novel and movie, The Secret Garden focuses on French-inspired cuisine with an enchanting floral installation as the backdrop.

Stepping inside, the first floor houses a small petal-smith counter with an in-house florist on the left; a display shelf with all the fresh pastries and cakes on the right.

Their all-day dining menu is comprehensive with French-inspired cuisines such as Soup ($10 – $12), Salad ($14 – $16), Pasta ($18 – $21), Starters ($12 – $26), Mains ($22 – $29), Coffee ($4 – $7), Tea ($7 – $8.50) and Mocktails ($8.50 – $9.50).

On the salad menu, they had Salad Nicoise ($16), Tomato Burrata Salad ($16), Avocado Kale Salad ($14) and French Green Salad with Smoked Duck ($14).

The Avocado Kale Salad ($14) was my favourite, aesthetically gorgeous like a green shrub with dollops of avocado, walnuts, cranberries with honey citrus dressing and vinaigrette. The Secret Garden (Baghdad Street)

Korean Beauty Salon and Brunch Place At Orchard Central
Walking On Sunshine or WOS, the Korean-style beauty and dining hub in the block, is located at the 3rd floor of Orchard Central. It is one of the biggest you can find in Singapore, juxtaposing a salon and a café in one location.

The beauty salon is powered by top-notch professional hairstylists, barbers, make-up artists, and nail artists from all around the world.

As for the garden-themed café, it offers lots of food choices for its diners. Even vegetarians will be delighted in the range of options, aside from its line-up of beverages.

If you could just pick one item from the food menu, make it the Instagram-popular Soufflé Pancake ($20.50).

Imagine a stack of three light and fluffy pancakes topped with a special cream, nuts, and fresh fruits like berries, grapes and strawberries. Good for sharing (or save all for yourself), this dish is loved by kids and adults alike.

Or have a savoury pancake for a change. The Crab and Kimchi Pancake ($20.50) is definitely on the other side of the flavour spectrum, but its spicy-sour taste is just as inviting. Walking On Sunshine (Orchard Central)

Makes You Feel Like You Are Overseas
Foodies in Singapore, especially those in Punggol, may just find more reasons to venture up to Seletar Aerospace Park.

The redeveloped area, called The Oval, contains restaurant concepts including Wheeler’s Estate, Youngs Bar & Restaurant, Di Wei Teo Chew Restaurant and The Summerhouse.

Other than The Summerhouse restaurant concept run by Chef Florian Ridder (former sous chef of Alma by Juan Amador), there is Wildseed Café and Bar located at the ground floor.

Once entering Wildseed Café, you may have an out-of-country experience, as it reminded me of some of the hipster cafes in Bangkok.

Breakfast items include Bagel Eggs Benny ($16), French Toast ($16), Smashed Avocado with Bacon ($18), to Avocado Toast Waffle ($18); while lunch dishes feature Kelong Prawn & Scallop Pizza ($25), Mussel & Clam Vongole ($25), Truffle Carbonara ($25), Chicken Katsu Waffle ($22) and more.

It incorporates a farm-to-table concept, and works with Edible Garden City for its vegetables, Nomad the Gallant coffee roaster for coffee, and Poppy for flowers. Can get super-duper crowded during weekends, which kind of spoils the calmness though. Wildseed Café (Seletar)
