Burp Kitchen & Bar
740 Bedok Reservoir Road, #01-3165, Singapore 470740
Opening Hours: 4pm – 10:15pm (Mon – Fri), 12pm – 10:15pm (Sat – Sun)
Burp Kitchen & Bar at Bedok Reservoir (brunch with a view) is focused on Americanised comfort food, with Asian-inspired and Tex-Mex fusion dishes. Complete with rustic décor and friendly service.
This can be considered a place to hang out with friends for dinner and after-work drinks.
You can have a go for some comforting bar grub of Salted Egg Wings, Bangers & Mash, and Spicy Buffalo Wings; or have a dinner meal of Truffle Mushroom Carbonara, Grilled Unagi Aglio Olio, Triple Cheese Burger and Beef Bulgogi Tacos.
The burgers are worth a go here – these are big, juicy ones. I particularly enjoyed the Truffle Beefy Shrooms Burger ($12) with the seared beef patty with rich hearty flavours, topped with savoury sautéed mushrooms.
The ingredients were held together well in a soft brioche bun, and the addition of truffle mayo added some aroma as you bring it closer to your nose.
For a burger with local flavour, the Chicken Rendang Burger ($13) comes with succulent chicken thigh drizzled over with rendang sauce – which is more nutty than spicy, along with sunny side up in a brioche bun.

Nuevo Café
115 Eunos Ave 3, #01-01, Singapore 409839
Opening Hours: 8:30am – 9:30pm (Mon – Fri), 10:30am – 9:30pm (Sat – Sun)
Nuevo Café is a hidden gem at Eunos not many would know about. It is actually not that far a walk from Paya Lebar MRT station. Through the park-connector, getting there is about a 7 to 10 minutes’ scenic stroll.
Food wise, Nuevo Café serves up all-day breakfast, brunch favourites and rice bowls with a Japanese twist. Good to know that all prices are inexpensive, with no additional service charge.
For a protein fix or a fuss-free meal (available 11:30am to 9pm), you can go for either the Yakiniku Beef Ribeye or Teriyaki Chicken. Both are served on a bed of Japanese rice, topped with pickles and sous vide egg, sprinkled with sesame seeds and roasted nori.
The beef used for the Gyudon was grilled quickly and cut thin, giving the pieces a layer of even char and tenderness.
The refreshing and crisp Asahi Beer is used for the Beer Battered Fish ($11.90). As the Japanese beer is known to maintain its high bubble density, it is a good choice to add body and lightness to the batter.
Therefore, you would still find the outer layer crisp, even if it is left out for a while. Served with a choice of dip – mentaiko mayonnaise or truffle mayonnaise dip.

Discover their selection of signature dishes like Fiery Mala Pasta ($18), made with spaghetti and Szechuan mala spices, mushrooms, baby corn, crab stick and pork; Scallop Mentaiko Pasta ($20) with USA scallops.
The best-selling dish at Chug Chug is King Prawn Chug’s Tom Yum Pasta ($20), prepared with linguine in a tom yum cream sauce with XL King prawns, squid, and fried Sakura shrimps.
Owner Xinde revealed that this is the one dish that stayed on the menu since the opening days of Chug Chug, and has continually revised the recipe based on customer’s feedback.
The latest addition is Chug’s Style Sambal Stingray ($18), featuring their in-house sambal and served with fried onion fritters.
The meat turned out to be wonderfully tender matched with a shiok sambal chilli sauce. The addictive fritter makes this a suitable bistro food to go with some drinks.

Other outlet at Oasia Hotel Downtown
Known for its weekend brunches and artisanal high tea and cakes, The Marmalade Party is a home-grown bistro serving modern comfort food in a charming ambiance.
The headlining main is the Truffle Beef Burger ($26). Before the truffle gets lost in your mouth, there is a whole slice of black truffle tucked between the USDA beef patty and cheese. (Just in case you were wondering.)
The parts that I liked best were actually the accompanying ingredients – sweet caramelised onions, sautéed mushrooms, smoked cheddar cheese, truffle aioli accompanied with mesclun salad. And the parmesan fries which still stayed crisp after a while.
The Marmalade also serves luxurious pastas, such as the Spicy Crabmeat Pasta ($26) with generous portions of quality jumbo and lump crabmeat. Al dente cooked linguine pasta are tossed in a sweet-tangy tomato sauce, with pine nuts that add a buttery nutty taste to contrast the spiciness.
End with a dessert of Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding ($14) topped with a scoop of refreshing French vanilla ice cream and sea salt caramel sauce.

Avocado on Toast is the IT brunch item and Kith does their Poached Eggs & Avocado ($15.90) well – a healthy treat of creamy crushed avocados, roma tomatoes, kale, walnut pesto poached eggs on sourdough.
