Ah, a café that brings together coffee, vinyl records, local design, and photography under one roof.
The team behind Hip Xiong Photo Studio runs the space at Geylang Road, while Analogue Anonymous handles the café side of things.
You can feel their attention to detail from the moment you walk in. There is a bit of that retro vibes, and the interior can look like a page in a design magazine.
Yet it avoids feeling pretentious.
The drinks menu at Analogue Anonymous offers the classics and interesting blends. Coffee options include Espresso ($3.50), Black ($4.50 hot, $5.50 iced), White ($5.50 hot, $6.50 iced), Cold Brew Black ($6.00 cold, $7.00 iced), Cold Brew White ($7.50 cold, $8.50 iced), and Kotor, a pandan-infused latte ($6.50 hot, $7.50 iced).
The beans apparently came from Ipoh and the result was a cup that was smooth, not too acidic, and finished with a gentle, quite balanced bitterness
Food here is supplied by Gurt Bakery. I didn’t manage to snag that last slice of ginger banana cake before it disappeared from the counter though.
Tea lovers can choose a Matcha Latte ($5.50 hot, $6.50 iced) or Matco, which is matcha with coconut water ($7.00).
I tried the Matcha Latte and found it on the milder side. The flavour was light and easy to drink, though I wouldn’t have minded a little more of that classic matcha depth.
For something caffeine-free, there’s the Asam Man, a mix of sour plum and pandan with oldenlandia soda ($5.50).
Analogue Anonymous is perfect for lazy mornings or those afternoons when you want to hide out and recharge.
Vintage record players set the mood and you might catch yourself staying longer than planned, just soaking in the vibe.
