The latest addition to the acclaimed and long-established Common Man Coffee Roasters is here: look for Quayside Isle the next time you wander into the depths of Sentosa Cove.

The alfresco area next to the marina is where you will find the tastefully decorated café, clad in tanned panels and crisp white tiles.

First opened in 2013, this is their fourth outlet (the others at Martin Road, Stanley Street and Joo Chiat). The roastery has definitely come some way since their establishment.

Over at Quayside Isle, you will find a huge expat community stopping by to indulge in locally-roasted coffee, juices, wine, and their all-day brunch-style menu. There was even a constant queue to get in when I visited.

The café continues to maintain its trendy industrial look with a long barista bar parallel to an equally lengthy communal table.

A brunch will not be complete without food. Common Man does pride themselves on sustainability for its food menu, sourcing locally when possible.

They offer an all-day breakfast menu with house-favourites of Croissant Croque Monsieur ($18), Organic Eggs Benedict ($27), Turkish Common Man Breakfast ($28), to House-made Crunchy Granola ($18).

This is a good way to spoil yourself in the morning.

I had the Umami Mushroom Avocado Toast ($23, +$2 for poached egg) which has been a popular item in the roastery.

One might be familiar with its construction: toasted sourdough focaccia piled with a mixture of oyster and shimeji mushrooms, with creamy avocado and red onions pickles.

A safe, dependable choice.

The other popular item is the Turkish Common Man Breakfast ($28) which includes soft coiled egg wrapped with soft boiled egg, accompanied with crispy feta, pumpkin hummus and fresh cucumber.

The pomegranate and drizzle of honey help cut through some of the richness.

The tower of Common Man Fluffy Pancakes ($24) is topped with caramelised bananas, walnuts and nutty crumble, complete with an acidic berry coulis and a thick salted caramel sauce.

There is no question that the people behind Common Man are known for coffee. They only use specialty grade Arabica coffee, roasted in Singapore and brewed by trained baristas.

Through this way, coffee drinkers get to enjoy complex notes and flavour with every sip.

At the top of the menu, there is a QR code that reveals the available single-origins ready to be brewed.

It does change from time to time to keep things fresh, but they are for you if you are looking for unique qualities and flavours. A Slow Brew ($7) or Cold Brew ($8.50) will do the job.

Otherwise, turn to the usual Black ($5.50, $6.50) or White ($6.5, $7.5) espresso coffee. They offer a good balance of flavour, delightful to have on any day.

Common Man Coffee Roasters is always a hip choice for brunch with friends or family – the Quayside Isle outlet is no different, and it does provide a wonderful view and vibes.
