If you like to try some of the best of Paradise Teochew in one sitting, here’s your chance to.

Paradise Teochew has launched two limited time only set menus available during weekdays Monday to Friday, each comprising of the restaurant’s iconic signatures.

These are great for both business and personal occasions.

Located at both Takashimaya and Scotts Square, you can find Teochew classics and Hong Kong-style dim sum offerings that are specially created by Executive Chef Cheng Fa Kwan and team.

The 5,300-square-foot Takashimaya outlet has a classy, contemporary décor and dining hall which allow natural sunlight to stream in during the day; while the renovated Scotts Square outlet is tastefully done up with a touch of sophistication.

The two Paradise Teochew’s Limited Time Set Menus include:
– Delightful Set Menu ($140, U.P $180) good for 4 pax, with option to add-on $35 per extra pax.
– Luxurious Set Menu ($232, U.P. $309.20) good for 4 persons, with option to add-on $58 per extra pax.

Here’s more on the Delightful 5-course Set Menu ($35 per pax, min 4 pax):

Dim Sum Trio Platter
A dim sum platter which includes juicy steamed pork dumpling Siew Mai, Steamed Dumpling in Teochew style and Deep-Fried Prawn in Beancurd Skin.

My favourite piece was the Steamed Dumpling in Teochew Style – Paradise Teochew’s take on the traditional dim sum that features peanuts, mushroom and bamboo shoots encased in translucent crystal dumpling skin.

Delicately-pleated, a bite into the thin skin would reveal generous portion of fillings, and I specially enjoyed the refreshing crunch of the chopped jicama and other ingredients sauteed till fragrant.

Fish Maw Broth
Fish Maw is considered a delicacy ingredient in the Chinese cooking especially in Teochew cuisines.

This Fish Maw Soup was slowly cooked and simmered till silky and thick, flavourful and also included with chunks of sweet crab meat.

Warm, nourishing and comforting to the belly.

Spanish Duroc Pork in Red Wine Reduction
New to the menu is a Spanish Duroc Pork Belly dish with prime cuts of the premium pork cooked to immense tenderness in a bold red wine sauce that is reduced to intense flavour.

The Duroc pork is known for its excellent quality, with a high degree of marbling, intense flavour.

When I took a mouthful, I realised that the texture though to the lean side, was still considered almost melt-in-the-mouth tender. Also, it was soft yet didn’t taste that fatty, without the usual ‘pork’ aftertaste.

Stewed La Mian with Scallop in Superior Broth
This Stewed La Mian interestingly reminded me of Braised Ee Mian – looked simple yet flavourful.

Topped with plump scallops, this was part stewed for the sauce to be absorbed into the noodles, part stir-fried for that breath of wok-hei, and all-round delicious.

Chilled Aloe Vera and Lemongrass Jelly in Sour Plum and Lime Juice
For a sweet end, refresh your palate with a part-sweet, part-sour, part-tangy cooling dessert.

There is also a Luxurious Set Menu ($232, U.P $309.20) made for four pax, with the option to add-on $58 per extra person.

Start with Braised Trio Platter, comprising braised sliced Irish fat duck, braised sliced pork belly and braised sliced pork knuckle.

New to this menu is the Steamed Diced Seafood Dumpling with Lobster Broth with a plump dumpling in flavourful lobster broth.

There are also the Paradise Teochew Stir-fried Assorted Vegetables, and Braised Crisp-fried Sea Cucumber with Superior Abalone Sauce topped with flavourful abalone sauce.

Not to forget the Stir-fried Hor Fun with Preserved Turnip, in which soft, flat rice noodles (hor fun) made lightly crisp by wok-frying them with a leafy Chinese broccoli and preserved turnips (chai poh).

End with the classic dessert of Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo of fresh mango purée enriched with sago and pomelo pulp.
