Time flies! It is time to get into the Christmas and New Year festivities, and many of my friends are already planning where to go for their ‘traditional’ Christmas Buffet meals.

Perched on the 32nd floor, Seasonal Tastes at The Westin Singapore boasts of a wonderful view of Singapore’s CBD area.

This is one Christmas feast with festive specialities, a live interactive kitchen concept, tantalising desserts and breath-taking views of the Singapore city skyline.

You can expect hearty roasts, yule log cakes, Christmas-themed desserts (some of them are really cute), and a selection of Seasonal Tastes signatures.

Executive Chef Aaron Foster is dedicated to prepare some of his personal favourites and home-style comfort food, like what his own family would eat back home at Ontario Canada.

If you are not going down during the exact Christmas and New Year periods, you can still expect a “crab-tivating” selection of seafood and mouth-watering crab dishes such as the perennial favourites of Chilli Crabs and Salted Egg Prawns. Available daily, 6pm to 10pm.

Highlights include Whole Roasted Turkey wrapped with Smoked Bacon, Slow-roasted Striploin with Black Pepper Crust, and Chocolate, Whiskey & Chestnut Yule Log.

Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet, Christmas Brunch Buffet and Christmas Day Dinner Buffet
Flavourful table mainstays such as Whole Roasted Baby Lamb, Leg of Ham stuffed with Turkey and Roasted Peppers, and Whole Baked Salmon with Curry Scallops accompanied by the freshest selection of crabs, prawns, half-shell scallops, lobsters and freshly-shucked oysters.

End it with a selection of desserts such as Port Wine-poached Pears, Chocolate, Whiskey & Chestnut Yule Log and Vanilla, Raspberry & Pistachio Cheese Yule Log.

Free-flow champagne, beers, wines, soft drinks and juices. What a way to celebrate!

New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet
Goodbye 2016. Hello 2017. End the last and start the next year right with offerings such as 24-hour Slow-roasted Prime Rib, Jerusalem Artichoke Soup, and Mortadelle-stuffed Squid with Salsa Rosa.

For seafood lovers, the special highlights include fresh picks of oysters and prawns like Marmite Baked Oysters, Oyster Rockefeller, and Prawn Thermidor.

Here are some of the highlights from Seasonal Tastes Christmas Buffet Feast!

Whole Roasted Turkey wrapped with Smoked Bacon. Turkey wrapped with bacon and roasted. The result? A bird which picked up both the bacon and smokey flavours.

Leg of Ham stuffed with Turkey and Roasted Peppers. Do you call this a “Turham”? Absolutely glistening in the sticky glaze, succulently stuffed.

Slow-roasted Striploin with Black Pepper Crust

Whole Baked Salmon with Curry Scallops. Simple, fresh-tasting, amazing depth of flavours.

Whiskey & Chestnut Yule Log. Rich, creamy, decadent in chocolate, slightly alcoholic. What’s there not to love?

Raspberry & Pistachio Cheese Yule Log. The inner cheese mousse was soft and creamy, with an inner layer of tanginess.

Port Wine-poached Pears. Such a Christmassy-treat, and haven’t had this in a while. In a deep elegant maroon red. Tip: Eat this with some the gelato on the side.

Snowman Cake Pops. These are cute and popular with the kids.

Blueberry Crème Brulee. I liked this a lot, and the blueberries added a touch of citrus-sweet bite.

In a need to get your Christmas roasts and desserts for the next Christmas party?

These hearty delights from The Westin Singapore can make that perfect centerpiece for your Christmas feast with family, friends and colleagues.

For the savouries, you can go for the Apple-glazed Turkey ($140, 6-7kg) served with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables, chestnut stuffing, cranberry and port wine sauce, mouth-watering Homemade Sausages ($105 for 3kg) and Pineapple-glazed Ham ($125 for 2kg). Succulent and tantalising.

If your family prefers some Asian style carbs for sharing, try the Canton Wok-fried Claypot Rice ($68 which serves 8-10 people) with smoked country ham, assorted seafood, asparagus, and spiced walnuts, or Ee-fu Noodles ($68 which serves 8-10 people) braised with roast turkey, wild mushrooms, and a touch of truffle oil.

No Christmas meal is complete without a logcake.
