September 2026 brings another packed month of new café in Singapore, with plenty happening beyond the usual brunch and coffee formula.
Dough makes its return at Capitol Singapore, while newer names such as Coffee Room, Slab Coffee and Stash Coffee put specialty coffee firmly in focus.
There are also loaded bagels in Joo Chiat, Korean-Japanese comfort food near Serangoon, Yunnan-inspired rose bakes in Chinatown, Shio Pan from $2.40, and gelato cafés opening till midnight.

Popular Brunch Café Returns At Capitol Singapore With Rosti And House-Baked Desserts
Dough has made a quick comeback after closing its five-year CHIJMES outlet, relocating just a short walk away to Capitol Singapore.
The new space feels brighter and greener, almost like a small indoor conservatory with hanging ferns, tropical plants and lime-green booth seats.
The menu still goes well beyond the usual eggs and toast, with Cherry Tomato & Guacamole ($14), Gravlax Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese ($16), Baked Egg ($22), Rosti ($22/$26), Chicken Thigh ($22), Ibérico Pork with Italian Rice ($26) and Japanese Wagyu ($36).
The best-selling Rosti ($22) remains an easy place to start, served with scrambled eggs, baby spinach, roasted herb tomato and sour cream, with a choice of house-spiced roasted pumpkin or Gravlax Salmon.

Coffee Room

Stylish New Café At Teck Chye Terrace With Serious Specialty Coffee
Coffee Room is one of the new cafés at MBER along Teck Chye Terrace, and it certainly looks the part with glossy burgundy floors, exposed red pipes, chrome furniture and colourful retro chairs.
More importantly, the coffee gets just as much attention, with beans from Brazil, Honduras, Kenya, Colombia and Ethiopia available during my visit.
I chose the Honduras Marcala for my White ($6), and this was probably the coffee that surprised me most. The sherry barrel fermented beans gave it a distinct whisky, vanilla and chocolate character that somehow reminded me of Baileys, despite there being no alcohol involved.
For something to eat, choices include Gula Melaka Swirl ($6), Banana Bread ($6), Hyunwoo’s Cheesecake ($8), Brownie ($6) and Brownie Sundae ($9). Stylish café, yes, but the coffee is really what would bring me back.

GUI Cafe

Dosirak, Rosé Somen And Korean Comfort Food Near Serangoon
GUI Cafe has opened its second outlet at Teck Chye Terrace near Serangoon MRT station, within the new MBER co-living development.
The menu continues GUI’s Korean-Japanese direction, with Signature Dosirak Ricebox ($17), Arabiki RiceBox ($15), Gogijip Beef ($23), Shio Salmon & Ikura ($25), noodles and other rice dishes.
The Signature Dosirak ($17) is the familiar mix-it-all-up lunchbox with luncheon meat, egg, kimchi, seaweed and rice, while the Spicy Creamy Rosé Somen with Arabiki Sausage ($17) was rich, smooth and quite spicy zhong kou wei, especially towards the end.

Accompany Coffee

Furniture Showroom Café With Coconut Coffee And House-Made Cakes In Joo Chiat
Accompany Coffee has taken over the former Same Days Coffee space inside Grafunkt at Joo Chiat, though this is a different café run by family members of the familiar “Uncle barista”.
The setting remains distinctive, with pale wood, a long counter, a large paper lantern and the furniture showroom extending beyond the café.
Coffee is kept fairly focused, using a Brazil and Guatemala espresso blend with roasted nut, raisin and milk chocolate notes.
House-made bakes include Chocolate Chip Cookie ($5), Dark Chocolate Mousse ($7), House Cheesecake ($8.50) and Citrus Olive Oil Cake ($7.50). Such a quaint spot to spend some ‘ME-time’.

Loaded Bagel Sandwiches And Flavoured Lattes At Joo Chiat
Here’s another new cafe at Joo Chiat. PULL by TPG occupies a prominent corner of A Hotel Joo Chiat, opening directly towards.
The setup is quite straightforward, almost like an open sandwich kitchen where you can watch the ingredients being piled onto bagels and thick toast.
The menu names are considerably more playful, with Quack Attack ($16.90) with smoked duck, Cluckin’ Good ($15.90) with pulled chicken, Holy Crab ($14.90), Eggstatic ($13.90), Gobble Gobble ($15.90) with turkey ham and Fishionista ($14.90) with chilli-tomato tuna.
With opening hours from 7am to 9pm daily, it also works beyond the usual weekend bagel run.

Slab Coffee

CBD Coffee And Early Breakfast From 7am At Raffles Place
For some folks, Slab Coffee may look a little intimidating with its all-black frontage along Phillip Street, but the CBD café is more comfortable once you head further in, with seating stretching towards the back.
The brand first started within private members’ club 33Club before opening this public-facing outlet at Raffles Place.
Coffee is the focus here, with its Keystone espresso blend carrying notes of plum, hazelnut, caramel and dark chocolate, while seasonal filter coffees start from $8.
Food is geared towards an easy breakfast or quick office meal, including Bacon & Egg Roll ($8.90), Chilli Crisp Egg Avo ($7.50), Triple Cheese Toasties ($6.90) and Ham & Cheese Croissant ($6.50). Generally fuss-free stuff.

Kin Joe Coffee

Neighbourhood Coffee, Tiger Bomb And Madeleines Near Beauty World
Kin Joe Coffee has opened its first physical café at Eng Kong Terrace, within a quiet landed neighbourhood near Toh Tuck and Beauty World.
It started as a home-based coffee business in Bukit Batok, with its name combining the Japanese word “kinjo”, meaning neighbourhood, and “a cup of joe”.
Coffee is made using Liberty Coffee beans, with Double Espresso ($4.50), Black ($5), White ($5.50), Mocha ($6.50), flavoured lattes ($6.50) and V60 Pour Over (from $8).
Look out for the Madeleines which come in flavours such as Honey, Coffee Chocolate and Earl Grey, with lightly crisp edges and soft, buttery centres when eaten fresh.

Gather Cafe

Quiet Arab Street Café With Strawberry Matcha, Coffee And Sourdough Toasts
Gather Cafe is a completely different café from the former Gather at Raffles Hotel Arcade, this time sharing the premises of Caya Studio at 148 Arab Street.
Step in and the café stretches surprisingly far back, with white walls, globe pendant lights, greenery, armchairs near the front and proper tables further inside.
Drinks cover Espresso ($5), White ($6.50), Magic ($6.50), Matcha ($6.50), Hojicha ($6.50) and Yuzu Soda ($6.50), while food includes Croissant ($5), Pain au Chocolat ($5.50), Banana Loaf ($4), Avocado Toast ($9.50) and Almond with Banana & Chia Seeds ($7.50).
The quieter setting makes this an easy coffee stop when you want to be around Arab Street without sitting right in the thick of the tourist crowd.

That Place

Playful Fusion Brunch And Pasta Near Mount Faber
That Place is located along Morse Road near Telok Blangah Road, in a unit previously occupied by 93 Degrees C Coffee and Fuel Plus+.
It is probably not somewhere most people would find by chance, though the café has built a following through its funny social media skits.
Its playful menu covers breakfast sandwiches, brunch plates and Asian-inspired pasta, with choices such as Spam Club ($15), Midnight Bulgogi ($15), Creamy Truffle Udon ($22), Tom Kha Pescatore ($22) and Salmon Mentaiko Don ($22).
The Spam Club ($15) came with panko-coated Spam, yuzu kosho honey mayonnaise, cheddar, tomato and a sunny-side-up egg in a bagel bun.
In terms of food, That Place has more personality than the usual eggs, toast and pasta café menu.

ROGS RACE

Vibey CBD Café With Coffee And Midnight Weekend Hours
ROGS RACE sounds more like a streetwear label than a café, and its dark, futuristic space at Icon Village adds to that first impression.
The menu also includes an Iced Vanilla Protein Latte ($7.90) for the gym-goers, On The ROGS ($8.90) with espresso, blood orange and Earl Grey lavender cream, and the matcha-based Daybreak ($7.90).
The food selection is short for now, with choices such as Greek Pulled Lamb Stuffed Pita ($8.10), Turkey Ham & Cheese Croiswich ($7.90) and Tuna Melt ($7.90).
Its midnight closing time on Fridays and Saturdays also gives the CBD café a different appeal after office hours.

Yunnan-Inspired Rose Bagels, Sourdough Tarts And Freshly Baked Breads In Chinatown
Daily Artisan & Bakery is a new bakery café found on the first floor of People’s Park Complex.
Its Yunnan-inspired rose bakes are the immediate eye-catchers, particularly the Cheese Rose Pretzel Bagel ($6.50) coated with dried petals and filled with rose-infused cream cheese.
The floral flavour is quite pronounced, though the bagel itself was soft with a pleasant chew. I also liked the Rose & Raspberry Sourdough Tart ($4.30), as the tangy raspberry filling helped balance the sweeter, perfumed rose notes.
The selection goes well beyond pink pastries, with Walnut Brioche, Coffee Bun, Thai Pineapple Buns, Salted Egg Custard Bread, Purple Rice Cheese Bread, Cream Cheese Fig Baguette and Croissant Sausage Roll among the listed best sellers.

Affordable Shio Pan From $2.40, Sourdough And Coffee At Hong Lim Complex
Tian Bakehouse at Hong Lim Complex caught my attention with something increasingly uncommon around the CBD: Shio Pan starting from just $2.40.
Most of the breads stay within the $2 to $3 range, including Kaya Shio ($2.60), Lemon Shio ($2.80), Chocolate Nut Shio ($3), PistachioNut Shio ($3), Red Bean Butter ($2.50), Potato Bacon Cheese ($2.80) and Pumpkin Nut Baguette ($2.80).
The bakery also sells sourdough and sandwiches, and accepts CDC Vouchers. Great.
Oh yes, coffee is not an afterthought either, with a medium dark TIAN’s Blend using South American and Indonesian beans, plus a brighter Kenya AA filter option with blackcurrant, red berry and citrus notes.

Late-Night West Coast Dessert Café With Gelato, Waffles And Matcha
Doublechin Cafe is a new neighbourhood dessert cafe near West Coast Market Square, not to be confused with Cakinology & DoubleChin Cafe at NEWest.
Gelato flavours during my visit included Cookie Monster, Taro, Forbidden Chocolate, Pistachio, Ferrero and Bananas in Pajamas, priced at $5 for a Single Scoop and $9 for a Double Scoop, with $1 extra for premium flavours.
I tried Pistachio and Ferrero, and it was the latter that stood out more, with a familiar chocolate hazelnut flavour that genuinely reminded me of the actual Ferrero chocolate.
With opening hours till midnight daily, this could be a useful dessert stop for the West Coast crowd after dinner.

Quirky Kelantan Lane Coffee Stop With Earl Grey Coffee And Cardamom Loaf
Stash Coffee is a small pop-up along Kelantan Lane with most of its seating spilling out along the sheltered corridor.
The setup has a slightly DIY charm, from the handwritten chalkboard and Polaroids to the crow motifs dotted around the counter.
Coffee is kept intentionally short with Black ($5), White ($6) and the changing Secret Stash ($7), using a single-origin Ethiopian coffee from Ayel Gobena in Uraga Guji during my visit.
Quite a lot of personality for such a tiny coffee counter, and I hope this “pop-up” sticks around a little longer.
