Ciao! You would be forgiven for thinking you had wandered into a postcard of the Amalfi coast.
This new Italian brunch cafe is beautiful.

Fortuna Terrazza Café at Craig Road is a burst of yellow and sunshine, with striped awnings, lemon trees at the entrance, and interiors.
So cheery you almost forget you are in Tanjong Pagar.
In case you find the name familiar, it is the new project by the team behind Fortuna, the Italian restaurant just a few doors away.
Here, the mood is lighter, brighter, and designed for all-day café dining. Think late brunches, easy wines, a little dolce far niente in the middle of Singapore’s bustle.
The space itself is unapologetically thematic (and I loved it). Every corner glows in yellow, from the tiled tables to the scalloped awnings that hang above the bar.
Sit inside and it feels like summer bottled up, sit outside under the striped canopy and it is one step closer to Capri (though Singapore’s weather can be unforgiving).
Brunch items available from 10am to 4pm include Funghi & Burrata Bruschetta ($24), Prawn Pizzetta ($26), Ocean Trout with limoncello cure and smashed avocado ($28), and the Buongiorno Toast with maple glazed bacon and truffle mayonnaise ($26).
I started with the Aglio & Olio Benedict ($24). It sounded… unusual?
The base was a potato rosti, crisp and golden, holding up two runny poached eggs, a slick of hollandaise, and just enough garlic oil to tie it all together. Hearty without being heavy.
The Open Omelette ($26) came with triple smoked ham, stracciatella cheese and arugula, served on Fortuna’s signature soft omelette base.
Surprisingly, my vote went for the Funghi & Burrata Bruschetta ($24).
A slab of sourdough piled with sautéed mushrooms, sweet burnt leek purée, and a creamy mound of burratina. Earthy, savoury, and rich, though I would have preferred the bread slightly warmer (just a notch) to match the topping.
There is also a line-up of pastas and panuzzo (sandwiches made with folded pizza dough), with options like Spaghetti Pomodoro ($26), Amalfi Ravioli stuffed with crab and ricotta ($29), Caprese Panuzzo with marinated ox heart tomato ($25), and Mortadella with pistachio crumble ($28).
Dessert was the Ricottamisu Hot Cake ($18), Fortuna’s playful spin on tiramisu.
You get dense ricotta pancake stacked with mascarpone al caffè and coffee sauce, topped with chocolate crumble.
My friends and I loved the top part, and not so much the base as we wished it could be fluffier.
Fortuna Terrazza keeps its dessert game fresh by offering a rotating selection of tarts and pastries every day.
I went for the eye-catching Pistachio Tart, which arrived with a dome of pale green cream crowned with chopped pistachios and dried raspberries.
The cream had that lovely nuttiness you expect from pistachios, rounded off with a soft sweetness. The bits of raspberry added a bright, tangy lift, keeping the richness in check. Delizioso!
If you need a short escape, this bright yellow spot will give you at least an hour of holiday vibes without the plane ticket.
