[Bangkok] NANA Coffee Roasters Ari sits at the heart of Bangkok’s Ari neighbourhood, a district known for its creative energy and a great place to cafe hop.
There are so many “Best Bangkok café” guides that include NANA Coffee Roasters on their lists.
The café’s story began with a single roastery founded by Warong Chalanuchpong and Kanda Thochampa, two coffee obsessives who believed Thailand could produce beans and brews as good as any in the world.
You can almost feel your expectations rise the moment you spot the glass-fronted café peeking out from the trees.
The space is housed in a modern structure that blends glass, warm timber, and lots of greenery.
There is a sense of calm as soon as you step inside (though it does get touristy does certain hours).
Soft natural light fills the room, and the garden view provides a pocket of peace.
Inside, seating is divided between airy main floors and a quieter mezzanine, for anyone seeking to escape the noise.
Food here is a mix of brunch classics and some dishes that avoid the predictable.
As I visited during breakfast hours, there were the Nana Platter (THB 495), Kubano Club Toast (THB 320), Spicy Hollandaise Croissant Toast (THB 320), Bacon Espresso Jam Croissant (THB 390), Old Bay Toast (THB 390), and Chubby Boy (THB 420).
Deciding fast between the over-flowing Tamago Sando (THB 350) and Kubano Club Toast (THB 320) wasn’t easy, with a long line behind me, but I went for the latter as it looked easier to share.
The Kubano Club Toast came rather substantial, stuffed with ham, chicken breast, avocado, and gooey cheese.
The bread gave a good crunch, and the filling was hearty and savoury.
Messy but satisfying, and looked as good as it tasted.
You will only find the Blueberry Bomb (THB 410) at the Ari branch, and it is even harder to resist when you see it in that beautiful ocean blue.
Each slice started with buttery brioche, layered with a generous spread of their house-made organic blueberry jam, then topped with a smooth, slightly tangy blue spirulina cream cheese.
Felt a bit like a dessert and a breakfast rolled into one. Not spectacular taste-wise though.
Coffee at NANA is serious business.
The menu covers over thirty single-origin beans, each roasted in-house and presented with tasting notes that makes choosing one very difficult.
Baristas craft drinks using siphon, pour-over, and espresso methods. And I loved my coffee.
At peak hours, the café can fill up fast.
The experience feels a bit transactional, especially when there is a queue out the door and everyone wants their Instagram moment.
Still, orders arrived promptly and the drinks didn’t disappoint.
NANA Coffee Roasters Ari deserves its reputation in Bangkok’s café scene, serving quality coffee and brunch in a visually striking setting. Worth coming.
