Curry Chicken is a such a comforting dish, made with tender chicken, soft potatoes and a thick, fragrant curry.

I feel like it’s taken up a level when served in a claypot. The heat stays in, keeping the curry warm and letting the flavours deepen as you eat.

I went for the Claypot Curry Chicken set with bread. It came bubbling hot, still simmering when it hit the table.

That first whiff?

Comforting, creamy (more to the creamy side), mildly spicy, and full of that familiar curry smell you’d expect from a homestyle dish.

The chicken was tender enough to fall off the bone, and the potato chunk was huge, though a bit plain on its own. Still, it soaked up the curry nicely if you let it sit.

The bread they serve with it isn’t fancy. It’s just a basic toasted baguette slice, but it does the job.

It’s soft in the middle and great for mopping up that thick curry sauce.

The claypot keeps the curry hot the whole way through, which is a nice touch especially if you like to take your time.

Try Hock Shun’s Claypot Curry if you’re after something warm, creamy and satisfying.

The curry leans more on the creamy side than spicy, which makes it easy to enjoy even if you’re not big on heat.
