[BANGKOK] Head into Sindhorn Hotel Midtown Bangkok’s lobby, and you would find this clean Scandinavian-style Cafe as well as a well-designed co-working space.
Sip & Co. was designed to be a relaxing space after the founder remodeled the area inside.
To get there, it is of short walking distance from Chit Lom BTS station.
Surrounded by large clear glass windows, it is possible to sit and watch the sunlight change its colors throughout the day.
The tall ceiling-to-floor windows also allow plenty of natural light shine through, giving the relaxing, airy vibes that gives you a pleasant welcome.
Rather than the usual formal hotel lobby and café look, the designers collaborated with NORSE Republic, using leading Scandinavian brands and well-designed furniture.
This transforms the space to look more casual, yet comfortable and inviting.
The cafe provides a variety of sitting areas to choose from such as a long table corner for those who want to sit and work, a sofa corner to sit and enjoy chatting, and an outside area on the terrace in front of the cafe.
There is also a corner that displays lifestyle products from tableware brand Hay & Tradition, to buy and take home if you like.
The real highlight of this place is the variety of food on the menu, ranging from main dish plates to desserts and drinks.
Mains prepared by a team of experienced chefs include Savoury Breakfast Crepes (250 THB), Breakfast Pita Panini (260 THB), Fresh Salmon Chowder (290 THB), Cubano Jalapeno Pork Neck Madness (320 THB), Egg & Sausage Wrap (320 THB) to Pastrami Reuben Sandwich (320 THB).
The Walnut and Banana Pancakes (130 THB) were served with strawberry sauce, whipped cream, and icing sugar.
What was special was the walnut batter added to add texture and crunchiness, as well as the delicious caramelised banana on the side.
Other sweet treats include an indulgent Nutella Pizza (290 THB) and Midtown Caramel Toast (290 THB). You can also top-up with gelato (+70 THB) for added creaminess.
The Breakfast Muffin (170 THB) is actually something from the “kid’s menu”, and I was surprised by the portion.
It came with a lot more than expected on the plate such as ham, cheese, English muffins, and French fries.
The ingredients used were visibly of good quality. The muffins tasted freshly baked, French fries sufficiently crunchy on the outside.
The Iced Matcha Latte (110 THB) was rich and milky, but not too much, so that it did not over powder the distinct taste of match.
The Iced Latte (110 THB) was pure deliciousness with pretty rich coffee taste. I enjoyed the intense quality of the coffee and the softness of the milk.
Another thing worth adding is that they offer a huge amount of very healthy options, such as açaí bowls, fruits, smoothies, and others.
The variety and style of food they offer, and the beautiful, and inviting atmosphere, make this cafe to be a definite must-visit cafe for cafe hoppers especially those who are looking for healthier café food.
