SG Hawker is a modernised kopitiam serving an array of traditional local street food delights.

The other good news: it is opened 24 hours daily for selected stalls at the Clarke Quay outlet.

Note: this is not to be confused with Hawkers’ Street at ION Orchard.

There is another newly opened branch at Tanglin Mall, though this is a small outfit with lesser offerings.

Conceptualised by Fei Siong Group, SG Hawker offers a comfortable dining venue to experience hawker food and Singapore fare.

It includes seven stalls such as The Nasi Ayam Stall, Fried Kway Teow and Fried Hokkien Mee, 85 Redhill Fish Ball Noodles, Laksa and Prawn Noodles, Hainanese Curry Rice, Traditional Coffee & Kaya Toast, Handmade Pau, and Mee Hoon Kueh.

Here, you can find dishes made using heritage recipes handed down through generations, such as Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow and Fish Ball Noodles.

The recommended to try is the Signature Soup Noodle with Fish Maw ($9), each bowl is chockful of fish balls, pork balls, pork wonton, minced pork, sliced pork, pig’s liver, chicken egg, seaweed, and thick-sliced fish maw.

The rich and mellow soup uses 85 Redhill’s soup base, boiled using fresh pork bones, chicken bones and special essences and simmered for at least 3 hours.

Dried sole fish is added to enhance flavour and aroma.

SG Hawker’s version of the iconic Hainanese Chicken Rice ($4.50) features a whole chicken marinated in homemade chicken stock.

Once poached, it transforms into a tender, moist meat under a silky, glistening skin. Served with fragrant rice infused with chicken fat and aromatics.
