You might have heard of Whiskdom, a home-based bakery with huge Levain-style cookies and brownies that you can only get if you are ‘lucky’ enough.

Now, from their little space in Orchard Central, you can bring home a box of their baked goods without having to fight through their hundreds-long waitlist.

Whiskdom used to be a single affair ran by the boss, Fiona. Ooze has become a reality, thanks to a central kitchen being set up to meet the demand that she could never meet by herself.

Of course, when we hear “central kitchen”, we often have doubts about how the quality may change.

Some detail about the cookies: the cookies at Ooze are done Levain-style, which is an offshoot of the creations from New York City’s famous Levain Bakery, where oversized cookies are churned out daily to the satisfaction of tourists and locals.

The cookies have a gooey center with soft insides.

You will find rows of Cookies ($6.50) and Brownies ($6.50) neatly lined up on trays at the front of the shop. From there, take your pick from their dazzling array of flavours.

There is also the Ice Cream Cookiewich ($12.90) which is included with an ice cream and two toppings.

The cookies come in flavours of Chunky Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Overloaded, Chunky Chip Walnut, Berries and Crème, Crème Brûlée, Matcha Lava, Hojicha Lava, Dark Cocoa Speculoos, and Chocolate Smores

A best-seller is the Chunky Chocolate Chip ($6.50), a classic cookie with a butter base mixed with a copious amount of halfway melted chocolate chips. When you break it apart, it reveals a lava-like flow of melted chocolate.

The Crème Brulee ($6.50) flavour has a custard and chocolate center. You can have a scoop of the creamy custard and have a taste of the crème (although without the brulee).

When it comes to the brownies, there are the Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, Speculoos Delight, Matcha Cocoa, Hojicha Cocoa, Sea Salt Nutella, Raspberry Dark Chocolate, Gimme Smores, Oreo Peanut Butter, and Ovomaltine.

The Salted Dark Chocolate Brownie ($6.50) was decadent, thanks to the thick dark chocolate and enhanced by the sea salt.

While I was already expecting a molten filling, the melty core was smooth, rich and helped provide a contrast to the denseness.

The brownie is also the chewy type as opposed to a cakey type, which is more up my alley.

Ooze by Whiskdom offers you all the sinful goodness right in the heart of town, and I hear there are about 25% less sweet than the usual.
