[BANGKOK] The vibrant Creative District has now got another excellent café in a Coffee Roaster by li-bra-ry.

They join their sister branch li-bra-ry at Candide, which is just across the Chao Phraya river, to serve patrons wandering along the riverside.

Specifically, the café can be found taking up the whole of a warehouse, Unit 6 of Warehouse 30, on the historic Bang Rak side.

If you love shopping for trendy clothing, hipster accessories and bespoke handmade furniture, you known you can head over to Warehouse 30.

How to get there: take BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin BTS Station, then walk to Sathorn Pier and board a Chao Phraya Express Boat to N3 Si Phaya Pier. After which, walk about 5 minutes to Warehouse 30.

It was converted from warehouses left behind by the Embassy of Portugal, and the new owners gave it a vibrant life while keeping the architectural elements of the warehouse.

I had a good time people-watching as some of the Thai patrons visiting here were considerably fashionably dressed.

This space allows, for the first time in the li-bra-ry branches, the introduction of a coffee roaster right behind the espresso bar.

The coffeehouse prides itself on its unique house blend, which is achieved by roasting its own beans in-house.

Before you get a scent of the coffee, however, you might first become entranced by the aroma of fresh waffles in the griddle.

The signature li-bra-ry Waffle (110 THB) is in the shape of a pyramid (or should I say standing starfish), with a crisp shell and soft insides, as a good waffle should be.

The making of the waffle was quite intriguing as well, stretched by sticks and placed like a pyramid. There was a beautiful pandan fragrance which reminded me of those back home, except this had quite a crisp outer layer.

Perhaps some would wish there was ice cream to top off the waffle, but having it plain is just fine.

Match the waffle with a good cup of fragrant coffee. A hot Cappuccino (125 THB) or Americano (110 THB) releases the notes of the beans very well, although an Iced Latte (125 THB) or Iced Mocha (135 THB) might be easier to drink.

Those not so fond of coffee will be happy to take their pick from the non-coffee menu, with plenty of innovative drinks such as chocolate on the beach (120 THB), a mocktail with chocolate and coconut milk.

Take a stab at the red hot chili apple, which is a fizzy tea enhanced with a spicy kick.

For me, I will stick to a nice Coldbrew Berry (150 THB), which combines coldbrew coffee with cranberry and shaken to a refreshing treat.

Before you go, take a look at the dessert on display, and you might just find a nice and moist over size Carrot Cake (180 THB) or Dark Beer Cake (150 THB) still available.

If you want to bring home the taste of the coffee at a Coffee Roaster by li-bra-ry, the specialty blend is now available for both retail and wholesale.

Next time, you know where to go for a quick coffee stop, a bite of decadent pandan waffles, or some people-watching.
