Not just an ordinary chocolate maker, Lemuel Chocolate focuses on unique, handcrafted bean-to-bar chocolate-making.

Their chocolates are made with only 2 ingredients: cocoa beans and organic cane sugar.

They were previously located at the basement of The Star Vista and functioned more like a takeaway kiosk, but has expanded to a full-fledged café with bigger production unit upstairs at Level 1. Happy for them.

Offering more than 16 different single-origin chocolates, it sources and imports quality cacao beans from cacao farmers and reputable cacao agents around the world.

Aside from single-origin chocolates, they also offer a selection of chocolate drinks, pastries, products and tarts ($9) and cakes ($10 – $11).

The tarts available in rotational and seasonal flavours such as Signature (72% Dark Chocolate), Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, Liquid Gold (Sea Salt Caramel), Pistachio, and Hazelnut to tease the chocoholic in you.

I tried a festive special cake which is appropriately named “Elsa” as the colours are inspired by the famous let-it-go lead character in “Frozen”.

Beneath the shimmering blue appearance was a combination of smooth 70% hazelnut chocolate mousse, layered with baked New Yolk cheesecake and speculoos feuilletine crunch.

You get to savour the richness of the chocolate, yet without over-powering the rest of the components.

Since I was at a chocolate specialty café, I wanted to try something other than the usual coffee, and went for the Iced Raspberry Cacao Tea ($6) and Cacao Kombucha ($6.50).

The raspberry tea was refreshing, with the cacao adding a little depth to balance out the brightness of the tea, while the base of raspberry gave it a fruity lift.

Lovely little specialty café to check out with you are chocolate lover.
