I am still not entirely sure if “Foursome” for an ice cream shop won’t cause some incidental jokes.
”Shall we go for some foursome together?
”WHAT?!”
”I mean… Foursome Ice Cream and Waffle.”
This is going to sound so wrong when you jio someone for foursome, especially when it licking those round scoops of ice cream.
Located at Upper Thomson under a residential block, Foursome Ice Cream & Waffle has joined the trend of ice cream bars in the vicinity opening past midnight.
These include I See Cream and Salted Caramel Artisan Ice Cream (Upper Thomson outlet).
Opened by four friends (thankfully not three), the 20-seater space is decked in wooden elements from the walls to the tables and flooring with a warm vibes.
14 ice cream flavours are available at any one time, ranging from regular ones such as Gula Melaka, Banana Nut Crunch, Hojicha, Black Sesame, Hokkaido Milk, Chamomile Honey Milk Tea, Mint with Cookie Chips, Mao Shan Wang, Sea Salt Caramel, Dark Chocolate and Tiramisu.
Single scoop is priced at $3.80, while double is $6.60.
Premium flavours are priced at an additional $0.80 (Single scoop $4.60, Double Scoops $8.20), and include Hazelnut Chocolate Rocher, Taro Yam Coconut and Speculoos Biscoff – probably the IT flavour of late.
Waffle ($4.20), Lava Cake ($6), Cone ($1) and Bread ($0.80) are available to complement the ice cream.
Their beverage menu consisted of Blooming Flower Tea ($5.50/ pot) and Soda Mixer ($3.80).
Foursome Ice Cream & Waffle focuses more on plating of each individual plate, with torched marshmallows, chocolate sauce, rainbow sprinklers and icing sugar added.
I enjoyed the Waffle ($4.20) which was crispy with a light crunchy on the outside, complete with golden-brown shade.
The icing sugar and chocolate sauce was added to the sides for additional sweetness, yet without thankfully not interfering with the taste of the waffle.
Good to mention that the size of the ice cream scoop was also big with generous serving.
My favourite was the Black sesame that was strong, creamy and robust with nutty and earthly tones, reminding me of a solid version of traditional sesame paste.
The coconut and taro ice cream was worth a mention, well balanced – neither too milky nor too sweet, with a smooth and non-icy texture.
Foursome Ice Cream & Waffle will be perfect for late night activity during the weekends, especially when it opens till 2AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
