Cold Platter
Start off the meal with The Cold Platter, that comes with an assortment of Truffle Seafood Capellini, Cantonese Prawn Salad, Smoked Duck Crepe, Japanese Octopus and Seasoned Jelly Fish.

The Truffle Seafood Capellini comes with a single fresh prawn topped with ebiko (flying fish roe) and spring onions. Of all the items, this steals the limelight with its aromatic scent that would be irresistible to truffle lovers.

The Smoked Duck Crepe was another favourite item, wrapped in thin crepes similar to the Peking Duck style.

Golden Sand Shrimp Fried Rice with Roe
Uncle Roger will probably approve this fried rice, topped with generous amount of ebiko (flying fish roe) and shrimps.

Each grain of rice is evenly coated with liquid eggs before frying, giving it a light aroma and golden yellow look. I enjoyed this fried rice with the right amount of fluffiness, without being too wet or dry.

Cantonese Stewed Lobster Ee Fu Noodles (Part of the 牛运亨通 menu)
Braised Ee Fu noodles is a classic Cantonese dish made from egg and wheat flour and is usually served in Chinese banquets – so this is quite symbolic to have for a CNY feast.

The Ee Fu noodles were braised and stirred in lobster broth, while maintaining the springiness of the noodle; while the full lobster added that luxurious touch.

Australian Broccoli with 10 Head Braised Abalone
Abalone is often seen in various Chinese New Year dishes, pronounced as “Bao 包 Yu 余”, and it means an assurance of surplus in the upcoming year.

The Australian broccoli came in a dense shade of lush green, soaked in a thick, brown, savoury sauce before topping with braised mushrooms and 10 Head Braised Abalone for extra indulgence.

Teochew Style Braised Duck with Peanuts
Traditional Teochew-style cooking emphasises on bringing out the natural taste of the ingredients by using light seasoning and minimal amount of oil such as braising, so it is quite surprising to find this in a catered mini menu.

The duck was braised for a number of hours that resulted in a a soft, fork-tender texture.

In additional, the meat was well-infused with a savoury-sweet sauce, accompanied with additional soft peanuts and fishballs.

Signature Nanyang Style Curry Chicken with Baguette
The curry was rich, creamy, slightly spicy and lemak with chunks of chicken chicken and potato cubes within, that complemented the baguette used for dipping.

Buttery Salted Egg Yolk Fish
The Buttery Salted Egg Yolk Fish was the show stopper, coated with thick, grainy salted egg yolk batter that added a creamy bite with a hint of spiciness due to the addition of chilli padi.

The haddock fish was thick and creamy, whereas the crispy fish skin added gave some textural contrast.

Tofu Prawn in Chili Crab Sauce – Served with Golden Mantous
Expect succulent de-shelled prawns (convenient to eat!) and silky-smooth tofu soaked with a spicy, tangy chilli crab sauce.

Have it the local way by dipping those golden-brown deep fried mantou into the chilli crab sauce to soak up all the addictive sauce.

Truffle Siew Mai & Abalone Siew Mai – Limited Edition Dim Sum Set
One will not miss the aroma truffle scent from the Truffle Siew Mai in this Limited Edition Dim Sum Set.

I liked that the outer layer of the Siew Mai was thin and not doughy, while the chicken meat fillings stayed juicy and tender.

Torched Mentaiko Scallops
As part of the CNY special, the scallops were drizzled with mentaiko sauce before torching to enhance its flavour, also adding a touch of smokiness.

Teochew Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts
Teochew Yam Paste is a staple in most Chinese banquets, with coconut milk added to enhance to silkiness and taste, topped with gingko nuts for the extra chewiness.

Here, the Teochew Yam Paste was rich and creamy, perfect as a sweet ending.

In addition to the CNY Mini Buffet, customers can add on “Side Orders” which include Prosperity Yu Sheng with Baby Abalone ($39.90), Prosperity Yu Sheng with Smoked Salmon ($39.90), Homemade On & On Diners Peng Chye – Frozen ($188.00), Homemade Dim Sum Platter ($24.90 for 20pcs), Danggui Salt Baked Kampong Chicken ($29.90), Ma La Xiang Guo with Baby Abalone ($25.90), Wok Fried Black Pepper Crayfish, Imperial Braised Sea Cucumber Duck ($39.90) and more.

Other add-ones include the 10 Head Hong Shao Abalone ($25.90/Can) and 16 Head Clear Soup Abalone ($26.90/Can) suitable for Steamboat meals.

Ma La Xiang Guo with Baby Abalone ($26.90/10 pax)
Mala has become a hot favourite in the recent years, that is packed with both spicy and numbing sensation.

This Sichuan-style dish included various ingredients such as fishball, crab sticks, peanuts, broccoli, mushroom and fishcakes, stir-fried in Sichuan peppercorns for the smokey, aromatic fragrance.

Baby abalone was then added as a finishing touch for the festive spirit.

Homemade On & On Diners Pen Chye ($188.00/10 pax)
A Chinese New Year meal is never complete without a Pen Chye (poon choy in Cantonese, which means “basin dish”), a pot full of Chinese New Year delicacies such as Abalone, Sea cucumber, Fresh and Dried Scallops, Tiger Prawns, Dried Oysters and Fish Maw.

While most Pen Chye leaned towards the saltier side, the one from On & On Diners was slightly towards a sweeter side and also lighter in flavours.
