Ready to shake up your snacking experience at home?

Specialising in innovative, mobile-ready finger foods in a tub, Shake Shake In A Tub has shaken up its menu to offer new, bold flavours.

And it is also Halal-certified.

This Singaporean brand has outlets at the revamped Great World (#B1-K113), Clementi Mall (#B1-K14), Northpoint City (#B2-139) and Our Tampines Hub (#B1-44).

Here’s how it works: choose an item – wingettes and drumettes, fries or popcorn chicken; followed by one or more of the flavours; then the friendly staff will help you shake it up.

The eight exciting flavour seasonings include Truffle, Cheese, Sour Cream & Onion, Mala, Curry, Barbeque, and the seasonal Kimchi & Salted Caramel.

If you are working from home (WFH), Shake Shake In A Tub is also available for you to enjoy in the comfort of your own home or office via islandwide delivery (link here or selected areas (River Valley, Clementi, Yishun, Tampines) via Food Panda, GrabFood and Deliveroo.

Mix and match different pairings. Unleash your inner flavour scientist and make your snack time a fun time. Here’s more:

Shake Shake Chicken ($5.70 for ala carte, $8.70 for combo for 4 pieces. Also available are 8, 12, and 20 pieces)
Shake Shake in a Tub’s Chicken wings – the ultimate game time snack, is composed of team wingettes and team drumettes.

The brand is committed to use the best ingredients, using only fresh chicken and Healthier Choice Symbol-bearing oils.

Plus, it sources all ingredients from Halal suppliers and is in-process for Halal Certification.

Try the chicken coated in either the Original Soy Garlic for a classic flavour, or go for Spicy to add fiery power to your meal.

If this is your first time trying, I would recommend having the Original Soy Garlic. You would find the crackling crisp chicken coated with a layer of savoury-sweet sticky sauce, hat may just remind you of your favourite Korean fried chicken.

However, if you want stronger and more exciting flavours, then simply add $0.50 to your order of Original Soy Garlic Chicken to level up its taste with your choice of any of the eight flavours.

I would recommend shaking them up with a dose of Asian flavours like the Mala and Kimchi Powder for that spicy kick on the end.

The staff also recommended Salted Caramel which I was initially skeptical about, the contrast of sweet-salty taste somehow worked as well. The sweetness would be the first note you would get, followed by the soy, finished with mellow garlic undertones.

Prices start at $5.70 for 4 pieces. Just add $3.00 to make it a Combo Set, complete with freshly fried crisp fries and a drink.

Shoestring Fries ($3.20 for regular of 1 flavour, $4.80 for large of 1 flavour, $6.90 for huge with 2 flavours, $8.90 for giant with 3 flavours)
Hot, freshly fried shoestring potatoes in your favourite flavours. The only dilemma? There are eight to choose from.

I would recommend seasoning your cooked-to-order shoestring fries with the best-selling truffle.

The dash of truffle powder which would be shaken with the fries in a for a boost of umami flavour. These humble spuds paired with the strong and aromatic powder is a winning combination.

Or get the Mala Fries for a tingling on your tongue. While this may look non-intimidating at first, have a few more at a go and you would feel that addictive sensation on your tongue. Tip: get some water or drink ready nearby.

Curly Fries ($4.20 for regular of 1 flavour, $5.80 for large of 1 flavour, $7.90 for huge with 2 flavours, $9.90 for giant with 3 flavours)
Go curly with fries and add an exciting transformation to your snack.

These bouncy strands of potatoes go well with a dusting of the irresistibly finger-lickin’ Cheese powder or Sour Cream & Onion.

The mix may give the curly fries that familiar tangy, oniony flavour of your favourite chips – only much fresher, hot and potato-y.

Popcorn Chicken ($6.80 for large with 1 flavour; $9.90 for huge with 2 flavours, $10.80 for combo with 2 flavoured fries)
Need a filling snack while watching Netflix (Itaewon Class or Kingdom, anyone?) Together, these popcorn chicken will satisfy your craving for crunch and meaty taste.

Try them with the recommended seasonings of smoky and tangy Barbecue or the sweet-savoury and earthy Curry Powder.

While the batter-coated, crispy fried popcorn chicken are still bite-sized, I was glad to find it quite meaty and not mainly flour-coating.
