Fries, fries, fries… from straight cut, shoestring, curly, crinkle-cut, twister with flavours from truffle to poutine and chili cheese, we love them as part of a main or as an appetiser on its own.
These are some of the 17 Best Unique Fries In Singapore, And Not Just Truffle Fries.

Raclette Cheese Fries
Available as part of a Meat Platter, the Raclette Cheese takes the wheel (pardon the pun). The Swiss cheese dish involves heating a wheel of semi-hard cow’s milk cheese, and scrapping off (racler) the melted part onto fries.
That is not over.
Here is the cue for you to get your cameras ready for Instagram, bourbon will be poured over, and flamed up on the fries.
Otto’s Deli Fresh
Raffles @ Holland Village #02-01, 118 Holland Avenue Singapore 278990 (Holland Village MRT)

Fries with Salted Egg Yolk Cream
While I initially wanted to go easy on the Hand Cut Fries with Salted Egg Yolk Cream sauce ($6), they were irresistible.
Without exaggerating, these were probably the best fries I have eaten this entire year, perhaps even including last.
It has been a while since I last ate fries with that real potato taste (I know, sad), and these came soft and lightly salted, with house-made creamy salted egg sauce without that artificialness.
VivoCity #02-143, 1 Harbourfront Walk, Singapore 098585
Opening Hours: 11:00am – 10:00pm (Mon – Fri), 10:30am – 10:00pm
Jalapeno Cheese Fries
Hand-cut fries, cooked to order, and the cheese sauce was the-yums. Again, perhaps eat these fast, otherwise the fries would turn soggy quick.

Tel: +65 6238 6872
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 3:30pm, 5:30pm to 10pm (Mon-Thurs), 11:30am to 10pm (Fri-Sun)
Tom Yum Truffle Fries
With something like Tom Yum Truffle Fries ($6.80), we knew that was needed to fulfil our curiosity. “What on earth will the taste be like?”
Verdict. Like fries with salty tom yum power, while the truffle went missing.

Opening Hours: 5:30pm – 10pm (Tues), 11:30am – 10pm (Wed – Sun), Closed Mon
Poutine is a Canadian dish of fries in cream cheese and some kind of gravy.
Warning! This can be very addictive! The fries were soaked in duck gravy, cheese sauce and further added with crunchy duck skin – salty and sinfully good.
Vatos Urban Tacos
South Beach Quarter, 36 Beach Road Singapore 189767
Tel: +65 63856010
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 11pm (Mon – Thurs), 11:30am – 12am (Fri – Sat)
Kimchi Carnita Fries
The Kimchi Carnitas Fries ($16) was voted the “best dish in Korea” by 10 Magazine and one of the “six must-try foods in Seoul” by The Fodor’s Travel Guide.
It was actually good stuff. Shoestring fried drizzled with both sour cream and hot sauce, topped with fresh chopped onions, melted cheese, KIMCHI and a sprinkling of braised pork.
I find the mix of both sauces pleasurable, as one could lick off the creaminess at the edge, mixed with a dash of fieriness. Not overly spicy, I must say.
Cheng’s Gourmet Food Bar & Bistro BBQ
28 Clementi Road Singapore 129758
Tel: +65 6464 0617
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 5pm, 5:30pm – 11:45pm Daily

Old Hen Kitchen

Chilli Crab Fries
Side dishes such as Truffle Fries ($9) and Chilli Crab Fries ($12) were available, and the latter stood out more.
Topped with distinct chunks of crab meat with tze-char style chilli crab zhup (sauce), I could feel the spicy kick in each mouthful. Shiok!

The idea of “Pizza Fries” sounded like something from some kids’ menu item. Okay, I was wrong.
Like some deconstructed pizza, the fries were covered with loads of melted cheese garnished with pepperoni slices, paired with bacon ketchup.
Super sinful, and I would probably get fat on calorie overload. But I didn’t care.
Café & Meal MUJI
Raffles City #02-20/22, 252 North Bridge Road, Singapore 179103 (City Hall MRT)
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm
Soy-Sansho French Fries
The Soy-Sansho French Fries ($6.90) is a Café & Meal MUJI Singapore special.
That means fries coated with seasoning mix of Japanese Shoyu Powder and Parmaesan Cheese seasoning and Sansho spice (which may remind you of another fast-food restaurant).
Salty, good with a yuzu drink to wind down the time away.

Tel: +65 6255 5850
Opening Hours: 9am – 10pm (Mon – Fri), 11am – 10pm (Sat, Sun, PH)
Char Siew Chilli Fries
You can’t stop eating this. Truly a type of fries I won’t mind having again and again. I imagined drier form of char siew when I saw this on the menu.
Fortunately, the Char Siew Chilli Fries ($7)was covered with a moist saucy chew siew ragout, with sour cream and jalapeño salsa, which to me was an improved version of fries with meat sauce.
Truffle Floss Fries ($8)
Also available at Redpan.
Floss and sweet mayonnaise made a particular brand’s signature bread very famous. This fries had sweet-mayonnaise like drizzled over, which was adequately coated by chicken floss.
Wait, there was also truffle aioli which would satisfy truffle-fries fan.
Truffle fries? This is one level up.
The Butchers Club Burger

Salted Egg Sweet Potato Fries
Strangely, this Salted Egg Sweet Potato Fries ($12) works. Twice fried so that it becomes golden crisp on the exterior but still soft inside, accompanied with curry leaves and grainy house-made salted egg sauce.

Tel: +65 6385 3639

While Dazzling Café has been known for its Shibuya Toast, the Mentaiko Fries ($9.50) with creamy mentaiko sauce drizzled over shoe string fries turned out to be addictively pleasurable. Light and crisp.

Opening Hours: 9:30am – 7:30pm (Mon – Fri), 9am – 6pm (Sat – Sun)
These shoestring fries with melted cheese and so saucy shredded beef chunks covered all over. Warning, when you see the oily sauce left at the bottom of the dish, you may worry a tad bit.
