[Bangkok] This is one Tiramisu you want to kiss. Eat, I mean.
The popular Kiss The Tiramisu softserve dessert from Korea’s Hongdae has descended in the streets of Siam Square Bangkok.
Siam Square by the way, has revamped so much that it is practically where the hip and K-pop lovin’ youths hang out, with levels after levels of street fashion and casual restaurant.
Kiss The Tiramisu is part soft serve, with a taste of Italian “pick me up” tiramisu.
The shop, occupying a narrow space on Siam Square Soi 3, may be hard to find without GPS, but is actually almost next (a couple of steps) to the escalators leading up to Siam BTS.
Here is what the fascination is all about: The ‘tiramisu’ is served in a takeaway golden-rimmed wine glass (looks more class for Instagram), and filled with layers of ingredients.
Mascarpone cheese at the bottom, ice cream, crushed cookies, coffee liquor, cocoa powder, mascarpone, THEN soft serve, MORE cocoa powder and ended with chocolate shavings grated on the spot.
What I like is soft served added with the familiarity of this classic dessert, and you get a different bite upon every spoonful, especially with the crusty bits.
However, this cup can be messy to consume. The wind blows, and cocoa powder may end on your cheeks, hands, or worse the white shirt.
Each cup cost 159 baht, with original and strawberry options. One for the taste, the other makes for a prettier IG gallery.
