Crumbs Jardin Bakery – Such Delicious Cupcake Flavours. A Hidden Find
I may not the biggest fan of cupcake, but Crumbs Jardin Bakery is a hidden find that I actually liked. Such delicious and special cupcake flavours.
The cupcake shop is located at a discrete corner near Beach Road Army Market. 3 seats, no coffee or tea served at the moment. It did feel like entering someone’s humble home.
Owner Cherie who was formerly an airline crew picked up the hobby of baking due her frequent off days. The hobby eventually grew into a dream with the birth of Crumbs Jardin Bakery.
The shop is so named because it represented both her and her husband’s initials (C & J), and she would like to imagine that her cupcakes are like roses in the garden.
Cupcakes are $3.80 for one, $14 for box of 4 and $20 for box of 6.
While there are some of the conventional flavours – Red Velvet, Lemon Curd, Valhorna Chocolate, you should give a go at their daily specials. Avocado Gula Melaka, Teh Tarik Gu You Toast, Carrot Cake, Banana Maple Walnut, and Strawberry Balsamic those on display.
We wasn’t really expecting much initially. But one bite into the Avocado Gula Melaka, one bite, the group of us went OMG. So soft, so fluffy, yet so moist.
Some of the popular cupcakes we had at other places often turned out to be too dry or sweet for our liking, but Crumbs Jardin Bakery hits the right spot. The gula melaka drizzle was not over powering, and the faint mix with the aftertaste of avocado was just so different and refreshing.
Okay, to be fair, the more typical flavours were so-so in comparison, so ask for recommendations.
I went with Indonesian blogger Stanislaushans (and Camemberu who also thought this was very good) who had a sweet tooth and initially thought this other brand in Singapore was the best. He said, “Crumbs Jardin Bakery is better.”
